How has the OMNIA team progressed so far?

3 min read

As we passed 2021 and we are in the first months of 2022, we want to report on what we have achieved in the past year. After months of hard work alongside your generous support, we have achieved much and hope to continue delivering you good news as time goes by. In this article, we fondly look back at the past, recount our successes, and offer you a sneak peek at what we have in store for the future.

Our blooming partnerships
During the last year, we had the honor to meet and talk to many inspiring people who listened to our idea and saw its potential. Sharing the same vision that the blockchain will benefit from truly decentralized infrastructure and reinforced privacy on the off-chain side, these investors have agreed to back Omnia in our ventures.

We hereby express our greatest thanks to ReblockRaptor CapitalCryptoKudasaiJPAlfa CatalystHavlings CapitalBlockWalletand Crypto FOMO. With their help, we are now looking to expand our reach into other regions, including but not limited to South Korea, Southeast Asia, Japan, Italy, and Russia. Furthermore, thanks to BlockWallet, we can also complement our off-chain privacy with an on-chain solution, securing completely private access to the blockchain. We have covered each of them in a separate article, which you can check out using their respective links.

Our research
Although the OMNIA team already has a solid academic background and extensive experience in the crypto space, we believe it’s never enough to sit back and relax. So, in our quest to constantly expand our knowledge, we researched and documented the existing issues with the current “decentralized” blockchain.

To keep it simple: though the promise of decentralization stands, the reality is that much of the blockchain is still controlled by centralized entities. For example, the Ethereum network is being hosted by cloud services, with 61.6 percent of their nodes running on the cloud. It’s also worth noting that Amazon Web Services (AWS) controls 32 percent of the entire cloud infrastructure services market. You can read more in our dedicated article on decentralization here.

This proves to be a big problem because centralized infrastructure means it’s vulnerable to many malicious attacks like a Distributed Denial of Service or DDoS. What happened with Solana and AWS serves as a prime example of how important it is to deviate from the centralized model, and Omnia is here to make decentralized blockchain a reality.

Last but not least, our team has discovered some privacy vulnerabilities in MetaMask wallet which allowed hackers to mint an NFT, send it to a victim and obtain their IP address, thus compromising their privacy. The team wrote an entire blog post about it here.

Our token audit
We strongly believe that security and privacy should be a top priority for any token. When we worked on crafting our token, $OMNIA, we made sure to stand by this belief. As was reported in our article about our token audit report performed by leading cybersecurity experts from Hacken, we successfully delivered a token free of various common vulnerabilities, including reentrancy, access control, denial of service, and more.

Our MVP
The last of our successes came pretty early in 2022: as of January 6th, we have successfully launched our MVP, which you can check out using this link. Using this version of our web app, you will be able to generate secure endpoints to Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and Bitcoin. For the time being, you can enjoy untraceable access to the blockchain with a free subscription, all on us! But why stop there?

Our early adopter program also launched along with the MVP, and it lasts until June 1st. During this period, as long as you use our generated endpoints from the Omnia dashboard and then provide feedback and suggestions by filling in this survey, you will be enrolled! Early adopters like you get a premium subscription to our service for one year starting from alpha launch and various other benefits like $OMNIA tokens and other surprises in the near future. So make sure you sign up and stay tuned to not miss out on the best rewards.

What to know more about us?

Introducing OMNIA
By foreseeing the state of the current blockchain application network, we have committed to preparing, researching, and applying our technical expertise to our latest project, Omnia.

Omnia Protocol is a decentralized infrastructure protocol for securely accessing the blockchain so that no single point of failure will ever disrupt blockchain applications or wallets integrating with it.

Omnia’s solution is truly decentralized and requires zero technical knowledge. Therefore, all users can set up their nodes in little time and effort. Learn more about the technological marvel behind Omnia by following our Medium or reading our whitepaper.
