Meet the OMNIA team
The OMNIA Protocol team consists of strong professional individuals with academia background and extensive expertise in crypto and cyber security.
They have deep knowledge in cryptography and blockchain technologies, with proven track record demonstrated in both industry and peer-reviewed realms: PhD. in data security and privacy, pending patent for privacy-preserving identity management solution using blockchain, designed security software according to EU regulation and security standards, ex-members of Centre-of-Excellence (CoE) in national defence cyber security structures and pioneers in privacy enhancing technologies.
The technical expertise is complemented by a consistent management experience in leading software development teams, a customer-centric approach and design thinking per INSEAD methodology together with lessons learned from Y Combinator Startup School and past founded start-ups.
Cristian has a PhD in the field of privacy enhancing technologies, mastering cryptography for more than 6 six years with a wide experience, ranging from research and academic presence to designing and developing secure solutions according to industry standards (security, interoperability, etc.). His academic results are confirmed by the large number of peer-reviewed publications and from the successful research projects he has been involved in. As a security expert, he designed remote signing solutions and key management systems for the traditional PKI systems as well as for particular infrastructures. First contact with blockchain goes back in 2013–2014 when he wanted to buy a Bitcoin ASIC miner and hold it in a single room flat 😂. A few years later, from 2017, he got deeper into the technology and it was pretty easy since cryptography is the essence of blockchains 😎.
Alexandru has a strong technical background in programming, IT security and cryptography. His academic research activity includes cloud security modules, smart card architectures and DLT based authentication frameworks. He also has a pending patent on systems and methods for secure creation, exchange and management of user identity data using blockchain where privacy-preserving methods were key aspects in the architecture design. Alexandru has complemented his technical side by engaging in management activities and putting in practice the knowledge gained through continuous learning — design & critical thinking, team dynamics, growth through innovation and financial intelligence.
Catalin is a skilled software engineer with focus on full-stack development with Angular & NodeJS technologies, as well as cross-platform mobile apps. His background is very strong on technical skills, with hands-on experience with public-key infrastructure systems, multi-factor authentication modules and applied cryptography. Catalin has published a paper in a peer-reviewed academic journal on how to improve electronic signature systems with remote capabilities, while still assuring the sole control of the key owner and maintaining interoperability through alignment with widely used industry standards.
